February painting list

ok, so with February already begun it´s time to decide on this months painting list. I have a lot´s of things that needs to be painted so I think I´ll just list my Orks in this post. Mainly because I´ll have to finish them in a few weeks. I´m planning to take them to battle in about 5 weeks. Lot´s to be done, so without any futher delay...

* At least 10 Árd boyz
* My third Deffkopta
* One ork kannon (kill kannon from FW will be used as a kannon)
* One more AoBR nob
* One more shoota boy (will increase the squad up to a size of 12 inlcuding a nob)
* One Killa kan

This will be my first prio, I´ll hope I will put more items on this list but at the moment I´ll only put the items I´m sure I´ll have time to finish.

Untill next time, happy painting!

Some Slugga boyz

Ok, here is a pic of my first compleated Slugga mob.
I did some weathering on my trukk for my sluggas, the entire process only took about 20minutes. God, I love pigments!

Ok, I realize that the pic isn´t top quality, but it´s the best I can archive at the moment. And as a little bonus I´ll give you a sneek preview on a new project I will start. Some Warmachine models.

Untill next time, happy painting!

Halfway there!

Ok, so with more than half of january gone I´m halfway throu my painting. So far I have finished my Grots and a Runtherd, and now my first shoota mob is done. And I have almost finished six of my twelve sluggas. I probably need about one or two nights to finish the six sluggas I´m painting right now. I thought that I would show you a pic of my shootas, hope you will like them.
Untill next time, happy painting!

A small progress

Ok, my plan for january was to finish one shoota mob, one slugga mob and my Grots. So far I have compleated my Grots, and 5 shoota boyz. Consider we´re halfway throu january, I´ll have to get some paint on those brushes and start some serious painting. One of my big problems is that I have some shoota boyz who is almost finished, but insted of doing the last few things I ending up repaint the skin for example. I also noticed that I only had 10 shoota boyz at the moment not 12 as I wrote earlier. Well, well no harm done. Now it´s time to get back to work, so...
untill next time, happy painting!

A breakthrough!

When I decided that I would pick upp painting and (hopfully) wargaming again about 2 years ago, I decided that I would play Orks. I got 3 bikes, a box of boyz and 3 Deffkoptas. Since then my collection have grown and grown...and yet, it wasn´t untill last night I compleated my first mob (yes, every miniatures in the mob!). This first mob was my Grots and Runtherd! Of course I have done som HQ and so, but not a complete mob. Wow, interesting times!

The last few weeks have been filled with almost everything else but painting. But that´s life, right?

At the moment I´m working on a converted nob bike, a mob of shoota boyz, some slugga boyz, a Big mek with SAG, a Weirdboy, some Deffkoptas and I recently recived a box of Killa kans in the mail. Quite much in the pipline considering that my paintingtime will be reduced this year( family, work, studies etc.)

Anyway, my plan is that That my Grots + runtherd (11 models almost done!), my shoota boyz (12 models) and one mob of slugga boyz (12 models) will be completed before the end of january. Anything else is a bonus:)
Let´s see If I can stay focus on this or if I´m going to start on my ´Ard boyz, or converting Kommandos, getting a Battlewagon...or...it´s never stops!

Runtherd WIP

I thought I would show you what I did paint last night, it´s not finished. I still need to do some touch up on some details, but it will give you some idea about how he would look. Sorry about the bad light in the pic, I´ll try to get some better ones later when I have acces to proper light.

In this hobby It´s important to have a good brush to archive a good result add that you have to find a brush that you like and is affordabl. There is your challange! I have tried many different brand and materials, but at the moment I use Coat´d arms proffesional brushes and some cheap ones from Da Vinci.
Today I bought some from Winsor & Newton. I bought two different kinds from W&N, one Coatman and one from the black series labeled "Artists´water colour sabel". Now I can´t wait to find some paintingtime to try these brushes! I have tried the Coatman before with good result so I have high expentations on the black one.
Which brushes do you perfer? Please give me some advice on some good brushes.

Untill next time, happy painting!

A new year with new challanges and expectations

when I woke up this morning it was 2011, a new year who can be filled with new challanges and expectations, so what can we hope for and what will happen? As this blog id dedicated for the hobby of wargaming and miniature painting (been mostly painting so far) I thought that I will write a few words about what I hope for in 2011.

I hope that I will be able to combine the life of a father, family man, career and a painter. And how will that be possible all you wotking parents say? Honestly, I don´t know but I´ll sure give it a try and if I find the magic recipe, I´ll let you all know!

Apart from that I´ll hope that I will be able to join a wh40k turnament with my Orks (hopfully they will be finished by then) and I´ll hope that my painting skill will improve and lastly I´ll hope that I´ll find more interesting miniature games.

So without futher delay I´ll start my new life with making breakfast for my family, the rest will hopefully came later.
Happy new year and may all you wishes come true!

Untill next time, happy painting
