GK comission finished

I got a comisison about 4 weeks ago on a GK army that should be painted to only TT standard. Today I finished it.
It´s rather hard to take a good picture on so many minis, but it gives an idea about the army anyway. The colorscheme is the customers choice.

Coming upp in the next few days are some more Space wolves, The Nurgle lord and some ork kommandos!

Grey knights Rhino (TT)

This is a Grey knight´s Rhino I´m painting as a comission, it should only be painted in TT standard, wich I think it is right now. I usually want´s to do more thing´s on the mini´s, but if it should be, TT. TT it is! the colours are the klients choise. This was just a quick and small update, so you know I´m still alive. Hopefully the Nurgle mini will be done tonight, so check back later and find out.

Long time no seen

It have been very quiet on this blog for some time, the truth is that it´s summer and just a few weeks untill I will go back to work on full time. I have been at home, taking care of the kids for most of my time for the last 14 moths. It have been a fantastic time (most of the time) but now it´s almost over and that make me want to spend as much time with the kids as possible, so bot much blog-time.
But I have got some paintings done, I´m almost finished the Grey knights comission (I will show a WIP on the 3th purifier squad, there are still the eyes, shafts and some minor tuch ups left to do), some Mansion of madness who also is a comission and last a pic showing my next two personal projects.

Grey knights uppdate

I haven´t posted anything in a while, and certainly not any Grey knights. But I have some WIP shoots to show you on some vehicles and two Dreadnoughts. Two of the Rhinos can be swaped to Razorbacks thanks to magnets. And the Dreadnoughts arms is changeble to. They will have two FW autocannons but can change them for some few other options. More pics will come as soon as they are finished. And tomorrow there will be some Space hulk pics!

Some finecasts and Grey knight terminator list almost done

First of all, finecast. Well, almost everybody involved in this miniature/wargaming hobby has an opinion about finecasts from GW. I won´t make a statement here, just some facts. i have bought four products from there finecast range, and I have been satisfied with two of them. Next week I will return a homonculus who is missing a finger and Orion who was just...bad overall. But, I´m still willing to try some more of them, I really like how esy the resin is to work with. Ok, enough of this. First out is a pic showing what I got yesterday. But´I won´t start on any of that before I have finished some other project (that would bring my speed up).

And here is a pic of some Grey knights for a terminator list. Missing in this pic is another Dreadknight, a squad of 5 Paladins and a Grandmaster in Terminator armour. Pics of the compleate army will be posted in a few days.

Grey knight terminator squad

A few days ago I did the eyes and some small detalis on this terminator squad. I found this picture in my computer today and thought that I should post it. Thay are painted in TT+- standard.

Grey knights wip

It was a while since I posted some Grey knights, telling the truth I have working on some pieces for The Fang this week (not only, but among other things). This is what´s on my desk at the moment. The bases for the first five terminators are almost done, a final highligt on the stones and some static grass and they are of to go. But they also need some more details and I hope I have time to do that tonight. The Terminators in the back needs some more work. I redid them as I wasn´t pleased with the way the metal turned out. Well, I hope I will be pleased now. I will update tomorrow and tell you how it turned out.

Grey Knights Terminators and a Dreadknight WIP

Here is a few shoots of last nights work.The metal on the Terminators is almost done, just some smoothing up to do, a finaö highlight and maybe add some more blue to the armour. The gold is just a first layer and a shade. I will probably finish this squad tonight or tomorrow.

The Dreadknight will be huge, it´s much bigger than I first thought, but here is the body and legs with a first coat of metal (but it kind of look white in the pic)

Apart from this I did some painting on the blood angels Terminators from the Space hulk box to, but the pics got so bad that I will show you after next painting session instead.

Tonights desk

This is what I have been doing the last days. I think I manage to do quite much considering that the kids are ill and I have worked. Ok, as you can see I´m working on four projects at once (who said anything about priority?).
First out is 9 Grey knights in terminator armour , the first four are old metal once and the five in the back are plastic. I started to paint on the once in the back this night so they just got there first layer of Boltgun metal and some blue shade.

 

Next is some Blood angels terminators for Space hulk followd by some Genestealers. Nothing fancy yet, I just started to paint them.

And finaly is some pics on my fantasy project for The fang, I´m not sure I´m going to make it, but I´ll give it a try!

Grey knight terminators

Tonight I started to paint the squad of GK terminators, since I already have done the captain, it´s only four Terminators to paint. I went for a silver/blue traditional look with gold on the ornaments. So, this is how they look with the first layer of shading and a first layer of highligt (on the silver there is).

On my desk

Here is a few wip shoots of what I´m currently working at. The Grey knigts purifier squad is almost done. I have tha blades, eyes and a few other small things left, but besides that it gives you a rough idea about how they will turn out.

The Terminators will hopefully get there first coat of paint this week, I will experiment with another way of painting there blue/silver armour.

And the last pic is a new project that I will start tomorrow. At the moment the first five Genestealers have just been primed.

Grey knight terminator captain done

I think that I will drop my brush and not do anything more on this mini. It will be my entry for the Grey knight terminator contest over at the Brush brothers. I´m entering that competition just to improve my painting skill and try to do some better work with TMM. Hope you will like it.

Almost done!

So, I´m starting to see the end of the tunnel with this mini. The closing date for the Grey knight terminator competition at the Brush brother is just a few days away (30th of April). so this will be the last wip on this guy. I think I will focus on the base tonight and figure out a good way to take some photos of him. I have realized that this much silver is really hard to get a pic of without getting the reflexes. Do you have any good trick when taking pics of minis with this much metal on, I´ll be happy to get that!

Grey knights first squad

The first squad of Grey knights is almost done, just some touching up and the weapons left (ok, bases to, but I don´t count that). Here is a quick and probably last WIP- shoot on squad one.

Necrotech and Grey knights wip

The progress on my Necrotech is really slow, last night I painted the first layer of paint on his weapon and started on the "tubes" on his side. I will try to make them look like "worms". As for the base I will be adding some more detail, but try not to do "to much", still want a clean look. The shaft for the weapon will be red to contrast the grey mini and base. I think I need some color on the base, not sure what yet. Well it will get to me in time:)

Apart from my Crys who I have put on a bit of hold at the moment are the Grey knights (I will still paint one or two, but I haven´t planned to finish them untill the GK are done are ). The first squad are basecoated and based. The first 4 minis have got there basecoat of silver and "white". Next step is to pick out the red and wash the armour with blue. After that the "real painting" begins:) This is just a qick WIP, showing that the GK get´s their share amount of paint.

And one last thing, I got a small box of paints and stuff from Maelstromgames today, one of the best places to shop paints and goodies from (in my opinion).

Quick WIP on the Grey knights

Just a quick wip on the testmini for the Grey knights. There is still some shading and highligts to do and I haven´t started on the stormbolter and just done a first layer of highligt on the force weapon. Still it gives a hint of what they will look like  when finished.
For the base I think I will go for something brown with a bit of yellow, maybe dead grass, what do you think?

Warmachine and Grey knights

I haven´t painted any Warmachine models for the last past week, but last night I did a few strokes with my brush on my Necrotech (the never ending Necrotech...) He still needs a lot of work but at least now I can visualize how the mini will look when finished.  I stripped his weapon for the second time, I still can get it to look the way I wants, but I´ll give it a third try! Anyway, this is how the Necrotech looks at the moment.

Apart from the Necrotech I have my desk full of Grey knights! As I wrote in last post I got a comission on a Grey knights army, and I have started to paint! I still have to strip about 80% of the army, but while waiting for the chemicals to do their thing I started to paint the other night. I work on a Rhino (this one was alreadyu glued so I could not paint it i pieces as i would have want to, but It will be an experience at least) and one test mini right now. But I will start on the first squad as soon as I got an OK from my client.
First is a pic of the first GK that will be used to test squad markings.

And here is a singel shoot an the one who actually got some paint.

And at last an early shoot of the Rhino. This is still with just the base color and a thin wash of blue followed by starting to mark out the squad marking.
