Monte San Savino show 2013 part1

Monte San Savino Show 2013 is over, and have left me with a big hole to fill with something. Maybe I fill it with some painted minis...

This was the first time I visited Monte San Savino Show and I really had no idea what I was going to expect when I arrived. But let´s start from the begining.

Me and my good friend Lars got the idea a few month´s ago about going to Italy and Monte. So we bought ourself some planetickets, got a place to stay and went! At first let me say, Italy is wonderful! The people, the nature and the food is great and the coffe is superb! So far all my expectation has been fulfilled.

We arrived at Monte San Savino on Thursday before the show and after a good night´s sleep (and a bottle of wine) we got up early and walked to Monte San Savino. This is a picture of Monte San Savino taken outside our "apartment" at 7.30 in the morning.

The Monte San Savino show was held at a museum and was in three floors! The registration started at friday and continued on saturday, It was amazing to see all the beautifully painted miniatures and the atmosphere all togheter! Sadly I took almost every picture with my cellphone so they are not high quality pic´s, but they will give you an idea about the level of painting. I heard that it was about 1000 entries pre registrated and more to come so the place was filled with miniatures! I will show some of the photo´s now and the rest later.

More to come!

Untill next time, happy painting!

WIP Steampunk Jen Haley

A small update about the Steampunk Jen Haley miniature that I have started to paint. Now it´s about time I decide what´s my next step will be on this mini. I have very limited time to paint and I really want´s to say, well, I think she´s done now. And I ´m happy with the result!

That´s my intention. Will it ever happen?

I don´t know, but so far I´m happy with the result, not everything of course (but I guess I never will). I have some minor thing´s to do before deciding weather she will get some freehand stuff or not. Then of course is the base who need´s a bit of love.
On this mini I have very limited time, so say about 5h at the most. What can I do in just 5h? I guess we will have to wait and se where the muse caries me...

And another mini I started to paint a while ago, it´s a Sniper from MaxMini.

Some thought's

I'm human. And with that comes a whole lot of thing's...some of them are killing me, some drag me down and others lift me up again when I'm to tired to even walk. A head of me is some heavy stuff, behinds me even more. But somehow, evey day ends and a new one is coming.
I haven't got do much dicipline in blogging any more. But every now and then I will write a few words. Maybe even include a pic or two. This leads me to this post. This is a WIP on a mini from Dark Sword miniatures called Steampunk Jen Haley. It-s a joy and a really nice mini to put your hands on. This is about 4h work and I will have about 4-6h more before it has to be done. Proper pic's will come after she is done. Hope you will like her.

I'm currently trying to improve my workplace and try to get something more like a studio. But it take's both time and money...unfortunatly I don't have unlimited supplies of none of them.
But the studio will slowly grow and during that time som small project pic of a few random stuff.

Chaos Renegede Militia first WIP

This post is all about a Chaos Renegede Militia command squad from Forge World that I got my hand´s on over six months ago. I figure that it was time for them to get some paint so I started. sometimes I just need´s to do one of this thing´s to get some pice of mind...

My first intention was to get all armourplates dirty and rusty, but then my eye´s fell on a old paintbottle from GW, the Hawk turqouise, now I´m not sure anymore what to do. If you have any idea about the rusty metal or the turqouise armour, drop me a line.

Now it´s time to get to the pictures!

A small sign of life

It was literally ages ago since I wrote something on this blog. Since I´ve done pretty much something at all to be true. Lack of inspiration and personal stuff had to take time and I can only hope that inspiration and peace of mind can continue from this point.

I took some time and finished some details on some old minis and even started something new. So, what do you say, enough talking and time to see some pictures?

First out is the Imperial palace guard bust from Forged monkey. I still have some small things I want to add and even redo the eye´s on the mini. But for now she will take a break in my cabinet.

Here is the limited edition Wood elves standard bearer for Warhammer fantasy, since last I have only added some markings on the flag. I think it look´s pretty good right now. the miniature was fun to paint, and since the miniature is a one cast piece in metal it is pretty heavy for a miniatuer of that scale.

Next up is some Warhammer Fantasy miniatures (well, not only miniatures from GW, but close enough).
First up is some Wardancer, almost done but I will add some tattos and fix some minor things before the got a nice coat of varnish.

And last of the Wood elves is the old character Skaw the Falconer, still WIP but the miniature will be done during this weekend.

Wood elves WIP

For quite some time I have planned to post some Wood elves pictures here, but somehow it alway´s slipped my mind on the rare updates on this blog. Today´it´s only one picture and it´s a Wood elves standard bearer. There are a few spot´s I want to work more on before moving on to the banner. The question is, what should be on the flag?

That´s all for now, more to come during this week.

The year 2013 and a small walk down memory lane

2012 was not a good year if you think about my post´s on this blog. Irregular and with long time between the post´s. Still I have a few readers checking in to see if there is something new. To you, thank you! You are the main reason for me to keep this blog instead of just leting it slowly die.

So what have been the up´s for me during 2012? Well, mainly two thing´s when it comes to minipainting. At first there was a miniature painting contest held by GW Stockholm called The Fang 2012. I ended up with placing among the top three in four category´s.
3:rd place, open category with my Nurgle Lord
3:rd place 40k veichle with my Death comapany dreadnought
2:nd place in Warhammer fantasy single miniature with my chaos sorcerer
1:st place in Duel with my Space woves/Tyranid piece.
Pic´s of my entries can be found HERE.

But the thing that has left me with most joy this year (minirelated, and also apliable in my every day) was a trip to Versailles, France for the Massive Voodoo painting class. I still think about that weekend with a smile, a big thank´s to all the wonderfull people I meet there! When I write those word´s it strikes me that I never posted the blog post about the MV painting class...maybe I´ll post the report from that weekend later (since most of it was writen, just never posted...silly me).

So, with a glimpse back at the past year minirelated, it have been both up´s and down´s. Lacking inspiration/motivation and with to much in the real world to deal with did it´s inpact´s on my painting. For a long time, I couldn´t paint at all. Now I feel like taking control of my life again and do the stuff I really want to do!
This lead´s me into another thing...from now on and for some time time I won´t accept any new commissions. I have a few project´s who is ongoing and to you, don´t worry, I´ll finish it! And I will dedicate almost all of my spare time to get those project´s done so you don´t have to waint any longer. You have been extremely patient. Wich I am thankfull for, it will also be seen on your miniatures.

With this said, I´m a bit relifed and also a bit sad but I must do what´s best for me and painting on the clock can be stressfull and take away the joy of painting.

As I end this first post of 2013 I won´t promise more and regular updates on this blog, but I will surely try!

Untill next time, happy painting!
