I have project I ´ve been thinking about for some time. This one will be a project on the side who i take off the shelf when I need some inspiration so it will probably take some time before it will be done. I have just started to build the base. Hope you will like it.

Sunday update
When this weekend finaly came I had planned for a all weekend painting frenzy, the god´s of colors had other plans...I spent almost the entire weekend in bed with a cold from hell, could hardly stand up without the evil God of Darkness, Mr. Mouldline banged on my had with a hammer the size of a space shuttle... Still last night I could paint for an hour or so, not much but better then nothing. On the bright side, I did got a few new ideas, my mind might be clouded with fever so I have to wait and see how "good" the ideas are as soon as I get well again.
Needing some air I did a few photos of some of my projects.
First a Salamander dreadnoughts, I still need to do some touch up´s on the green, got a bad bottle of blue wash from Vallejo witch left a few whithe spots where there was blue when the was was wet. Anyone else got the same issues?
Now on to some fantasy stuff...first there is Ar- fienel who will be part of a Wood elves army. Still early WIP, but the quality of the mini is so great I have to show it anyway.
After Ar- fienel there will be a battle standard for the army, just primed at the moment.
And at last, something for myself. I started this mini a few weeks ago, but I havent paintied anything on him for a while (basicly it´s just two hours or so of painting and then he has been standing on my shelf for some time. Hopefully I will have the inspiration to finish him as sson as the Salamanders and Wood elves are done.

WIP pictures
I don´t have that much time nowday´s to sit by the computer and update this blog, but I will try to post a bit more often than once a month.
This time I want to share two WIP´s on two different projects. The fist is a Wareagle from CMON who will be a part of a Wood elves army for Warhammer fantasy. This "miniature" is huge! it´s one of the largest piecec I have ever painted. It´s not done yet, but the picture will give a fairly good picture about who it will loook in the end. Sure a few more highligts, and some detailing left who hopefully will bring the eagle to my vision, soon to be!
Next up is a Salamander dreadnought. Still early so not much to say about it. Soon to come some pictures of more Salamander space marines and a drop pod or two...

Dark angels Librarian
A few day´s ago I recived some Dark angels miniatures from the DV 40k box, a Librarian, Commander and the limited edition Chaplain. I started with the Librarian and it was a fun miniature to paint. All in all it took about 5h to reach this stage and I´m happy with the result. I still thinking about giving him some more OSL from his hand, but it will do for now. I might get back to him another time and also do some more battle damage. But it was a miniature to get me back at painting again and it did.
There will be another update in the next few day´s with some more miniatures.

Executioner
I forgot to post a pic of my Executioner for Malifaux. Not much to say more that it was a fun miniature to paint and all in all done in two evenings.

Arjac Rockfist
Arjac Rockfist is done, I did most of the work on the back of him since last pic. Soon Njal stormcaller will be painted as well as some Woodies and Salamanders.
I have also started on The Guild´s Perdita for Malifaux (sometimes you just need a break to get back on track).
Less talk, more pic´s!

Long time no seen
It have been a long time since my last post, life has been hectic and time for taking pictures of miniatures have been low. Painting on the other hand have taken a jump in the right direction, experimenting with some new way´s of painting and finding joy in pretty much every single miniature.
there is a lot of miniatures that is on there way to beeing finished but to take my mind of thing´s I have done some painting on Arjac, a Space Wolves character for Wh40k. This will be the first WIP shoot of him, but stay tuned for more pictures of some Wood elves, Salamanders and maybe even some Malifaux or Hell dorado miniatures!

Joy of painting is painting with a friend
This friday me and my dear friend Lars got togheter again for one of our painting sessions. As usual we painted a lot less that we had intended to to, but anyway it was a session of joy. We both started to build one Space wolf miniature that we should paint up later on. This night of peace followed by a suturday in Malifaux. We went to Uppsala about 1 hour away by bus to play a few games agains some new opponents.
That day was great, sometimes you get amazed by the friendly spirit of wargaming. We both will sure be back for more!
Here you see Lars all focus on his work, what a joy!

Cult of December
Since I will have one of my rare occations actually gaming this weekend I wanted to paint a new crew for Malifaux. I went for Rasputina and the cult of December. I didn´t spend more than 25-30h on the miniatures, and that´s including removing mouldlines, basing and so on. All in all I think that they turned out great and it will be fun to put them on the table this weekend.
I went for a rather limited palette, using the blue/turqouise color to bind them all together, it work´s for me at least.
And also a close up on Rasputina and the Ice golem. I glazed the Ice golem with toruqouise ink since the last pic, and I like the result. Seeing the picture I see that I was a bit cheap with some highlights, but it work´s for now.

A hard day´s night!
It's been a hard day's night
And I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night
I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you
I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright.
Well...sort of, last night was a night when I enjoyed painting more than I have done in the past few month´s. I started two miniatures and they where almost done in one evening! I sometimes find it hard to find the "flow" in painting once the kids are asleep, sure I can paint, but you know that inspiration who keep you up till 02-03 in the night, even thou you know that you have to be up in just a few hours. Last night that "flow" hit me like a train!
I started a Ice golem for Malifaux and a Space wolves terminator sergeant. Both have been around for a while and even thou I wanted to paint them both, I sometimes felt that they will never get painted. Last night I defeated myself!
First up is the Ice golem, sure I´ll probably do some more on that miniature tonight, but more or less it will be considerate ready for gaming.
Next is the Space wolves terminator sergeant, I´ll be painting some space wolves shortly and I wanted to see if I remembered how I painted the last once. Still WIP, but I think I´m on to something there.
No more waffle, I have coffe that wait´s for me and then it´s time for the playground with my son, today is a GREAT DAY!

Orks, incomming!
I have been painting a Deff dread and a Burna bommer in the Bad moons colors. Now they are done, or close to done (I might just do some fine detail work or so). the picturess show pretty much how they look´s, but I had a real stressful time taking the pictures. I take all my pictures using daylight and thet also means when it´s raining, no pictures. Today I did fins a few minutes when it wasn´t raing, that´s the stressful time. Anyway, on to the pictures!
Deff dread, the lower arms ar magnetized and all weapons in the box are painted up for him to use.
And then the Burna bommer (without the base that will be attached later on). The small bombs are also magnetized to help keeping track during a game.

Random WIP´s from my desk
Been a long time since my last post, but here is some random WIP´s. The kids have been ill for some day´s now so not as much hobbytime as I had planned. Hopefully that will turn around in a day or two.
First up is a WIP on a Deff dread that is part of a commission, it will also contain a Burna bommer. My planning say´s that these two will be done next week, and they will be done unless the sky falls down or something like that.
Next WIP to come is the base for Legolas who I will be painting after this commission.
When I finally get my camera out I snapped a picture of the diorama base. I haven´t painted anything on it for some time, but sometimes the projects need some time to "grow" and should be left alone for some time. I think this project is one of these.
I also got some basing material in the mail a few week´s ago so I built a base just to try it out a while ago. It took about 10 minutes of building time to get this look and about 20-30min of painting. But it still look´s great.

Earth Reborn
I have painted the miniatures for the boardgame Earth Reborn. Sadly not the best picture, but the miniatures was great. It´s fun to paint something new now and then.
Later this week there will be pictures of the finished Deff dread and some WIP´s on a Burn bommer. Besides from that I´m painting some Malifaux, a small diorama and hopefully will get some time to paint the Beastmen I started a while ago.

Burna bommer and Deff dread WIP1
I just started to build a Deff dread and a Burna bommer as a comission. They will go tot the same person who now has my Orks (I sold them, summer is comming, money is low...). When I first opened the box for the Ork flyer I realize that "Wow, this thing is huge!" and I must say...Orks will always gives me joy to paint. I have actually already started think about a new Ork army...but Evil sunz this time, who doesn´t love speed and huge vehicles with lot´s of dakka?
Besides from that, I´m ready to do the last tuch up on the Earth reborn miniatures I recently painted (also a comission) and now I´m currently waiting for some miniatures to drop in my mailbox so I can finish the diorama project.
But now, two small WIP pictures of the Burna bommers driver and the Deff dread.

Beastmen and a full picture of the fantasy project
Yesterday I showed a sneek previw of a fantasy project I just started. Today I thought that I´d show the whole base...as well as a early stage of a test mini of a Beastmen. Let´s see if these project will be done in a resonable time. I really like to do thing´s thats just for fun and not always to use in gaming, let´s see how these to thing will look after a few weeks.

Random updates
Me and my good friend Lars had another evening of painting, building and fun last night. It really fun to paint alongside someone. Not only is it nice to have some company but you also can learn so much from eachother. You got someone to talk about the ideas of your project and always got different angels, strongly recommend everyone to try it at least once!
Here is some pictures from last night and a sneek preview of my next project...
And every painter should have a helper, in fact there where foure of those little hairy monstery who all tried to help us in there on way...

Time to be serious, the art of depression
This post is about beeing serious, it´s about painting, taking care of yourself and about life.
Not many of you readers know much about me more then I paint some minis once in a while. This is a few word why and some thought´s about the purpose of my painting.
I start from the beginning. I have been intresded in table top games since the mid 90´s. I have never been much of a gaming, but insted I enjoyd to collect the minis, planing an army but rarely got the time to play a game or two. I have been of and on this hobby for some years, but I always seems to find my way back. This is something I know.
Last autum something happened, call i a life tragedy if you will. The result was the same, I feel into a deep depression. I had to struggle with the everyday tasks just to function, the result was that after a few month´s I went home from work. that´s the bakground of what I wanted to talk about. The next part is handling your inner beeing with art.
Having enourmous problems with simply thing´s like reading, painting was not something I couldn´t do for more than a few minutes at a time. My motiviation was missing, inspiration gone and my belives in myself lost. Still I tried to paint, "this I know", I keept telling myself and slowly as the weeks went by, something happened. I found out that the preperation work on a mini was kind of therapy for me, a symbol of something new. So I tried to prep minis for a while almost every day. the painting followed as I slowly begun to put layer after layer of paints on miniatures. Still the concentration was a big problem, you all know that you won´t get much painting done if you only would sit about 15 minutes at the time. This to improved as the weeks went by. I still have problems sitting longer than 30 minutes but I have embraced that feeling and try to say to myself that it´s an improvement instead of "why can´t you do some more?".
Long story short, nowday´s I can see a plan with some miniatures, I can visualize the mini beeing painted, and that´s a huge step for me! Mainly because that have helped me to set up a plan for my self, and my life. In a few word, my conclusion. Handling a depression is painfull and it eat you alive if you don´t find the tools for it. For me the first step was to raise my confidence in myself. I do that by painting. Small thing´s that makes you say "it´s good" instead of saying "what could I have done differently?" will in time bring you back to the person you once was, or even a better one!
What I want to say is, I take responsibility for my life, I´m handling my depression, one mini at a time. What´s working for doesn´t have to work for another, but somehow I have found a small path throu this dark lands into the light again. This isn´t entierly the thruth, there is another thing that have helped me a lot wich I don´t talk about a lon online, my two kids. They are fantastic, and without them the will to walk throu this and come out of it as a stronger person wouldn´t have been there at all.
So if some of you had the intrest of reading all this text. Thank you, I wouldn´t been here without all encouraging word both on this blog and on other forum as well. You can help a stranger even without knowing it.
Untill next time, happy painting and take care.

The Fang 2012, Stockholm is over
The Fang Stockholm 2012 was held at the Games Workshop store and now the event/competition is over. There were a lot of really well painted miniatures entered this year, I heard it was about 150 entries and all of them held a very good quality.
So how did I do at the competition? Very well I tell you, much over my highest expectations. I actually placed myself in four categorys!
Duell - first place with my "Tyranid attack".
Warhammer fantasy single miniature - Second place with my Chaos sorcerer.
Wh40k Vheicle - Third place with my Death company Dreadnought.
Open category - Third place with my Nurgle lord.
This made me very happy since I never expected to get in the top three with any of my entries when I entered them. So, did I tell hyou that I cellebrated last night? No? Well, I did!;)
What´s next in the pipeline then? Well, some flesh teares are primed and waiting for me to start them, and a Whirlwind as well, yeah and another Dreadnought! Then there is my expanding collection of Malifaux miniatures, some Warmachine and a Studio McVey miniature! These are part of my personal collection, then I have a comission coming up soon.
Untill next time, happy painting!

The Fang 2012
I decided to take part in this years The Fang painting competition in Stockholm. I left my entries there today and tomorrow I will know how it went. I did well last year, but I don´t excpect it to go the same way since I rushed the painting. But who cares, I paint for fun and for myself. Then it´s a bonus that I actually finish some models for my Flesh tearers (I guess they would still be on sprue otherwise).
I took part in seven categoris, yes seven. It´s pure madness I know, but there was so much to choose from and I couldn´t decide so I did almost all of them...I suppose I would have got better looking minis if I only hade choose one or two, but again. I paint for myself and sometimes I need a deadline to get something done...
Here are a few pictures of some of my entries.
First up is a Treeman for the monster category.
Then a Nurgle lord for the open category.
Some Deatha company marines for wh40k squad. The pic isn´t as sharp as I would have asked it to be, but I´ll take a better one later.
My Death company Dreadnought for the Wh40k vehicle category. This mini was painted in less then 10h, I think it was about 8-9h of painting from start to finish.
And my entery for the duel category, Tyranid attack. It´s hard to take pictures with so much white in it, but again, I´ll try again later.
I also entered the Chaos sorcerer and Lemartes but I was in a hurry and didn´t took any pictures of them, but I have showed them off earlier.
I let you know tomorrow how it went.
Untill next time, happy painting!
